At this time we will be going back to our original plan of $50 a year, starting April 1st, 2023.

This will ensure that the program continues for many more years to come.

We still believe in helping those artist that are in need; a scholarship program will be available -more info coming soon.

This is a challenging time for everyone. This is an ESPECIALLY trying time for artists. The COVID-19 outbreak has caused mass closures and layoffs. Without public events and exhibitions, independent artists have been left without the means to earn an income and little recourse. We are a small independent gallery & frame shop struggling to make it through this too. We’re in the same boat but if we emerge on the other side of this and independent artists do not, there’s no point. We’re nothing without our family of artists.

We want to support you as much as possible during this time and the inevitable recovery period after. This pandemic has lasted longer than any of us anticipated, and as a result we are still offering a year-long membership to the Up Front Art Space Bruno Putze Artist Program FREE OF CHARGE (usually $50 a year). Joining gives you discounts on framing and matting materials to help you rebuild your inventory, waives application fees to group exhibits to give you more opportunities to show and sell your work. Q: The Bruno Putze Artist Program- What is it?

A: A chance to affordably frame and display your artwork. We know how hard it is to be a working artist and how expensive framing is. It’s difficult and sometimes risky to invest a lot of money in professional framing and display for your artwork when there’s no guarantee it will sell for enough to recoup your initial expenses.

Q: Ok, so who is Bruno Putze?

A: Bruno Putze is a retired picture framer from Cleveland. He and his family were generous enough to donate and/or sell us the supplies and equipment that make this program possible.

Q: What does joining get me?

A: Joining gets you a slew of discounts and access to members-only events. The complete list of benefits are:

• Blanket 25% Off custom ordered framing materials and in-stock mats

  Because sometimes you have odd sized artwork that just won’t fit into a standard size frame.

  Standard size frames available in sizes up to 18” x 24” in Black, White, Gold, Silver, Cherry & Dark Brown. Some in-stock and the rest can be ordered. Please allow at least a week for any that need to be ordered.

• $5 mat cuts

  For the inside window. It never costs anything to cut down the outside of the board to the right size.

• Advance notice of upcoming exhibitions and calls for art

  Get ahead of the curve with extra time to make a piece or simply submit early for piece of mind.

  Because sometimes you need a better color. If you’ve ever tried to order just a whole sheet of matboard from a big box retailer, you know it’s expensive. Most mat colors at Up Front Art Space are $12.99 whether we have it in stock or not.

A: Membership lasts for an entire year from the date of purchase.

A: Because the discounts and benefits are so great, we want to make sure actual working artists (not scam artists) are the ones receiving the benefits. We’d like to stay open and keep framing affordable for you.
